The Nigeria National PolioPlus Committee (NNPPC) has reaffirmed its commitment to quality polio immunization through effective supervision during the August 2025 Intensified Block Routine Immunization Activity (IBRA) campaign across several states.
NPPC Field Coordinators provided supportive supervision in Kaduna, Sokoto, Zamfara, and Kano States, ensuring that vaccination teams maintained quality standards, engaged with communities, and resolved non-compliance cases.
In Sokoto State, coordinator facilitated the resolution of a major non-compliance case in Nupawa Settlement, Danchadi Ward, Bodinga LGA, where 10 children were successfully vaccinated after dialogue with caregivers. She also monitored vaccination at fixed posts in Bodinga, Wamakko, Shagari, Sokoto North, and Sokoto South LGAs, while convening evening review meetings to address challenges and improve daily performance.
In Zamfara State, supervision at Yargaruma Settlement, Maru LGA, guided teams to adhere strictly to campaign standards. Similarly, in Kano State, coordinator resolved a block rejection in Dosan Ward, Dawakin Kudu LGA, restoring trust and ensuring eligible children received the nOPV2 vaccine.
NNPPC Chairman PDG Joshua Hassan emphasized that supervision remains a cornerstone of successful immunization campaigns:
“Through supportive supervision, we not only monitor progress but also build trust with caregivers, resolve challenges, and ensure that no child is left behind.”
The Rotary International continues to collaborate with partners, and community leaders to safeguard children, strengthen vaccine acceptance, and move Nigeria closer to a polio-free future.
