In August 2025, the Nigeria National PolioPlus Committee (NNPPC) hosted a series of PolioPlus Seminars in Lagos (District 9111), Abuja (District 9127), and Jos, bringing together Rotarians, health partners, and government officials to deepen knowledge and capacity in the fight against polio.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"604\" data-end=\"857\">These seminars were designed to equip Rotarians with practical tools and field-ready skills to support vaccination campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and advocacy programs that remain critical in the final stretch toward global polio eradication.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"911\" data-end=\"1023\">The seminars focused on practical training to help Rotarians take their impact further. Key sessions included:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1024\" data-end=\"1951\">\n<li data-start=\"1024\" data-end=\"1197\">\n<p data-start=\"1026\" data-end=\"1197\">Supervision on the Field \u2013 Participants were trained to effectively support vaccination teams during National Immunization Days (NIDs) and ensure quality monitoring.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1198\" data-end=\"1370\">\n<p data-start=\"1200\" data-end=\"1370\">Use of ODK (Open Data Kit) \u2013 Hands-on training equipped Rotarians with digital tools to collect real-time field data, track progress, and strengthen accountability.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1371\" data-end=\"1581\">\n<p data-start=\"1373\" data-end=\"1581\">Fundraising for Polio Eradication \u2013 Strategies for sustaining contributions to the Polio Fund were discussed, emphasizing the critical role of donations in vaccine delivery and community engagement.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1582\" data-end=\"1769\">\n<p data-start=\"1584\" data-end=\"1769\">Advocacy and Partnerships \u2013 Rotarians learned how to effectively engage traditional leaders, policymakers, and communities in sustaining trust and support for vaccination efforts.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1770\" data-end=\"1951\">\n<p data-start=\"1772\" data-end=\"1951\">Planning for 2025 World Polio Day \u2013 Participants brainstormed impactful events and campaigns to raise awareness, mobilize communities, and spotlight Rotary\u2019s global mission.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1985\" data-end=\"2081\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" and expertise from Rotary\u2019s frontline partners, including:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2082\" data-end=\"2172\">\n<li data-start=\"2082\" data-end=\"2121\">\n<p data-start=\"2084\" data-end=\"2121\">World Health Organization (WHO)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2122\" data-end=\"2136\">\n<p data-start=\"2124\" data-end=\"2136\">UNICEF<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2137\" data-end=\"2172\">\n<p data-start=\"2139\" data-end=\"2172\">State Immunization Officers<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2174\" data-end=\"2339\">These partners shared insights on surveillance, communication, and effective strategies for reaching every child \u2014 even in hard-to-reach and high-risk communities.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2372\" data-end=\"2664\"><img decoding=\"async\" Chairman, Past District Governor Joshua Hassan, Vice Chairman PAG Dantata Ndus Muhammad , and National Program Coordinator, Gbenga Olayiwole, whose sessions inspired and equipped Rotarians with actionable knowledge to bring back to their districts.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2714\" data-end=\"3066\">On Friday, August 22nd, Rotarians gathered in Jos for an engaging seminar that combined learning, seminar ended with powerful discussions and renewed pledges of support for World Polio Day 2025 a reminder that every conversation, every lesson, and every action brings us closer to a polio-free future.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3323\" data-end=\"3533\">From Lagos to Abuja and Jos, these seminars were more than training events \u2014 they were calls to action, uniting Rotarians, health partners, and leaders around one shared mission: ending polio forever.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3535\" data-end=\"3697\">With sharpened skills, stronger partnerships, and renewed commitments, Rotary in Nigeria stands ready to continue leading the charge in the fight against polio.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3699\" data-end=\"3767\">Together, we learn.
